Official support for FileMaker 2023 (FileMaker 20) ends 31 December 2025

From 31 December 2025, Claris’s official support for FileMaker 2023 (also known as FileMaker 20) will cease. The current version of FileMaker is FileMaker 2025 (also known as FileMaker 22) which was released on 8 July 2025.

Should I upgrade to Claris FileMaker 2025? 

If you are running FileMaker 2023 (FileMaker 20) or older versions of the FileMaker Platform, now is the time to update your software to FileMaker 2025 (FileMaker 22), which provides the latest improvements in performance, security, and OS compatibility. We can help you install upgrades if you need us to. If you wish to perform upgrades yourself please let us know prior to doing so, as there may be compatibility issues to be borne in mind before an upgrade is planned.

What happens if I don’t?

FileMaker 2023 (FileMaker 20) and older versions will continue to work, and Decent Group will continue to support these as far as possible. However we will not be able to call upon Claris’s assistance if we need it, and there will come a time where it is not possible to install older versions on replacement or additional machines.

Does it cost anything?

Most FileMaker installation are covered by an annual licence agreement in which case you will already be licensed to use a newer version at no extra cost. If you are not sure whether this applies to you, please contact us and we can find out.
